After School Program

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

asp

King Elementary offers after school programming through the DCPS Out of School Time Program (OSTP) for preschool through 5th grade, and strives to provide a combination of learning, enrichments and free play to each of our students in a safe and nurturing environment. DCPS afterschool programs allow students to participate in academic and extracurricular enrichment activities and to develop new hobbies and skills. DCPS teachers, paraprofessionals, and community-based organizations provide a variety of unique programming options to students. Participation in high-quality afterschool programming has been proven to improve school attendance, academic achievement, graduation rates, and attitudes toward learning. Students attending two and a half hours of afterschool programs each day gain the equivalent of nearly two months of learning time.

Enrollment

Enrollment is online only at and must be done on a computer, not a device. If you do not have access to a computer, DC Public Libraries have computers available to the public. Space in OSTP at King Elementary is limited, and slots are filled on a first come, first served basis. Please enroll by DCPS deadlines to secure your slot.

Schedule

The OSTP at King Elementary is offered daily from 3:15-6:00pm. However, no OSTP is offered on the school day immediately before Thanksgiving break, Winter break and Spring break.

Cost

For School Year 21-22, co-payment fees will be discontinued. ALL DCPS families enrolled in OSTP programs will participate at no cost.
